reMarkable 2 is the culmination of well over six years spent pushing the boundaries of digital paper technology. Not only is it the world’s thinnest tablet, but it features an E Ink display with previously unheard of responsiveness. It provides the world’s best digital handwriting experience. Incredible responsiveness

When we launched reMarkable 1, the CANVAS display was at the core of the paper experience. reMarkable 2 marks the arrival of its successor. Featuring impressive 21 ms latency and a unique high-friction surface, the second-generation CANVAS display makes reMarkable 2 more paper-like than ever.

A unique pen tip crafted from compressed felt fibers, together with a paper-textured surface, creates the familiar feeling of pen and paper. Featuring realistic ink flow, and almost no distance between the Marker tip and its digital ink, reMarkable 2 is as close to paper as it gets.

“We set out to make a device as paper-like as possible. It always comes back to paper as a tool for thinking. If we’re going to help people think better, then looking and feeling like paper is essential,” says reMarkable co-founder and CEO Magnus Wanberg.

“With the second-generation CANVAS display, we’ve made some real breakthroughs when it comes to the tactile aspects of digital handwriting. At the same time, we managed to make the thinnest tablet anyone has ever seen.”

Measuring just 4.7 mm / 0.19 in, reMarkable 2 is the world’s thinnest tablet. This feat makes our latest paper tablet comfortable to write on and exceptionally portable. Even in its book-like cover, Book Folio, reMarkable 2 remains extremely thin.

“We had to machine aluminum to unbelievable dimensions, while engineering an incredibly strong structure. Each tiny component has a precise location in the assembly, and of course, rethinking them all to make the device thinner was crucial,” says Mats Herding Solberg, reMarkable’s Chief Design Officer.

Weeks of battery

Our advancements in CANVAS display technology have made our next-generation paper tablet considerably more battery efficient. reMarkable 2 will last for up to two weeks on a single charge, allowing for two hours of active reading and writing every day during the working week. An incredible standby time of up to 90 days, means reMarkable 2 is always ready to come out of your bag and get to work.

Smarter accessories

Designed to complement reMarkable 2, our sleeve Folio and Book Folio offer stylish and functional protection for the world’s most advanced digital paper. Launching in addition to the standard Folio in polymer weave, the new Book Folio makes it simple and easy to use reMarkable 2 without ever having to take it out of its cover. Snapping securely into place thanks to magnets in reMarkable 2’s spine, Book Folio is a practical and stylish way to protect your paper tablet. Book Folio is also available in a premium leather finish that ages beautifully.

Magnetic Markers

The Marker and Marker Plus were created in conjunction with reMarkable 2, to provide the perfect amount of friction, and draw digital ink on the second-generation CANVAS display with incredibly low lag and phenomenal accuracy. Both Markers attach to reMarkable 2 magnetically, and don’t require charging or setup.

The Marker Plus features an eraser in the top end that can be used like a traditional pencil eraser. Together with the added weightier feel and fiber finish, Marker Plus is simply an unrivaled digital writing instrument.

New software features. Still no distractions.

Launching alongside reMarkable 2 is Read on reMarkable, a plug-in soon available for Google Chrome. Read on reMarkable makes it possible to send simplified web articles directly to reMarkable 2 with the click of a button, and read without interruptions.
