Top of the full stops

When you pursue five different vocations, it must be hard to stay on top of every divergent thought that leaps to mind. And it’s true. Professor Stephanie Dunson, a teacher at Yale University’s School of Management and resident curious thinker, tends to spin more plates than she has hands. That can make for a potentially scattered mind. “I'm not a naturally organized person, but reMarkable takes a lot of the work out of that,” she laughs. “I'm a coach, a consultant, a college lecturer, a researcher, and I'm working on a book. Writing in all these different ways made it confusing to keep track of things.” Her paper tablet was a savior when it came to putting all these activities in one calm spot.

“It's so helpful to have a central place for everything.”

Anywhere, anytime

Like many creative thinkers, Stephanie finds that changing her location helps new ideas flow. Research like the Journal of Thinking Skills and Creativity (2023), backs this up, showing that physical environments allow creativity to flourish. “Sometimes I just need a different environment, and being able to fluidly move from the office to another location is something I really value,” she says. “One of the things I love about reMarkable is that I can go wherever I need to.” Having a writing tool that responds to her reflections is indispensable. “I can be gardening, and when an idea comes to mind, I can capture that energy immediately,” she adds. “It's great to be spontaneous in that way.”

An art to art

If creating is an art, Stephanie’s kit is instrumental to the outcome. “There's an almost artistic connection to the paper with reMarkable; I love that feel and texture,” she says. “The sensation of the pen on the page feels just like writing on paper,” she explains. “It's a satisfying writing experience and takes me into a whole different head space.” Her story illustrates how the right tools can change your whole writing experience. “It doesn't feel like work,” she says. The proof is in the pages.
